Brandenburg Gate, Berlin, Germany

The Brandenburg Gate is located at the entrance of the old Berlin and is a symbol of the city, but for almost three decades was a symbol of the division of the city: the monument was part of the Berlin Wall. It was built by Carl Gotthard Langhans (1732-1808) for the Prussian King Frederick William II (1744-1797). It was built from 1788 to 1791 in the neoclassical style, inspired by the Propylaea of the Acropolis in Athens.Brandenburg Ga Brandenburg urlBrandenburg Gate
