Coron is a Philippine municipality in the province of Palawan. It has 42 941 inhabitants.
The municipality of Coron consists of a part of Busuanga Island and all the nearby island of Coron. Both islands are part of the Calamian Islands in the north of the province of Palawan.
The main economic activities in Coron are fishing and tourism.
In particular, excellent diving opportunities are conducive to tourism. Popular destinations include the wrecks of Japanese ships from the Second World War, for example, after the flush on September 24, 1944 by the Fast Carrier Task Force 38 flying boat tender Akitsushima.
In the village there is a campus of the Palawan State University.
