Tatev is an Armenian monastery in the region of Goris, 316 km from Yerevan southeast of Armenia in Syunik marz, formerly province of Zangezur. This monument, the largest in the south, was placed by Armenia on its Tentative List of World Heritage in 1995.

Until 2010, access to Tatev monastery was quite difficult, via a single track, winding and steep poor, impassable for buses. The development and asphalting of the road was completed in summer 2010 to a station of Tatev was commissioned in October 2010 and which prevents the passage hitherto bound by the bottom of the canyon Vorotan River. Even the access road to the monastery is now easier, even if half of the track leading to the monastery remains to be developed.
