The Fort Roovere is a ramp at Halsteren who was part of the West-Brabant waterline. It is an earthen fort through a wall of the fort Pinssen is connected. The fort is open to the “back” to the “front” consists of two bastions. The fort has a dry moat and the slopes are covered with trees. In 1747, the fort was besieged by the French. During the Austrian War of Succession (1740-1748) The siege is described in detail. Eventually, the fortress fell Bergen op Zoom and the siege was discontinued.
