Wat Arun is a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand. The temple is located in the Bangkok Yai district, on the right bank of the Chao Phraya River. His full name is Wat Arunratchawararam Ratchaworamahavihara.
Built during the Ayutthaya period, it housed between 1778 and 1784 before the Emerald Buddha in Vientiane. It was almost entirely rebuilt in 1792 by King Rama II, the work ending in Rama III. His prang is 82 m.
