The Golden Rock or Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, is a huge rock about 6 m in diameter, placed in equilibrium at 1200 m altitude in the Mon (southern Burma) state.

Wearing a small stupa is one of the main places of worship of Burmese Buddhism. The pilgrims cover with gold leaf monolith evoking the head of the famous hermit.
According to tradition, the rock was placed there by two nats (spirits) there 2,500 years; it held by a thread, a hair of the Buddha.
Women have no right to touch or to approach.
