Okay, this is not a traditional beach … you will not find bathers or sand castle here. But the Red Beach in Panjin, located in the Liaohe River Delta in China is a very special place.
The beach is covered with a green algae that grows each spring. In autumn, the algal cover turns bright red and creates a breathtaking scenery.
Tourists can visit a small area of the beach, but it’s really beautiful to look at, even from afar. The beach has even been unusual uses … like when it was transformed into a giant national flag.
